I AM TRULY LUCKY

Cheyenne & Josh at the top of the Rocket

Off the Ridge

Corkscrew with the Cat Shop in the distance
This is where we were at this morning...isn't it amazing.  The best part is spending time with my kids, the second best thing is enjoying being outside in the winter!  I know, it's shocking to most of those who know me that I actually am outside in the cold snowy winter days, but come on with vistas like this all around and fantastic snow to play in Big White has converted me!

Valentines is a sick day in February

Wow, I had to take a sick day today... The Big White flu has knocked me over and is beating on my head.  Sucks that it's valentines day and the box of Purdy's Sweet Georgia Browns that Ren got me don't taste quite right, so I will save them for next week.  I had to miss the Elvis show at Happy Valley last night too.

On Saturday I took my first Snowboard lesson.  I am not sure that I really enjoy it yet.  Apparently you have to go at least 3 times (according to Tante Julia - who got it from her most excellent snowboarding sons).  Least I didn't break my arm like the poor lady in my lesson.  First trip down the bunny hill and wammo her day was ending with a trip strapped into the toboggan towed behind the sled to the ski patrol hut.

All I got done this weekend was cutting out 120 - 5 1/2 x 9 1/2 rectangles for Josh's quilt and 10 of the 60 - 2 1/2" strips I am going to need for the rail fence blocks.

In Memorium

Bill was the MC at our wedding and a good friend of my parents for 30 years.  He passed away suddenly at the age of 59, leaving a huge hole in his loved one's lives.  Un fucking believable.

Gem Lake Acrobatics

Phones are wonderful things...not only can you talk to your best friend half a world away, your husband can capture for posterity your child stuck on her board in the middle of Cann Cann or Blue Ribbon.  Yep the front of her board is elevated off the slope and the back is buried up to her boot.  How did this happen???  It started with a front flip and ended with her taking off her bindings so she could pull the board out.  I am so bummed to have missed that.

We love the snow!
